Sister Cities Newport News awards a $1,000 scholarship to a local High School senior looking to pursue their education in International Affairs, Foreign Languages or the Foreign Service. To apply, students must fill out an application and submit an essay of 750 words or less that addresses a series of questions on the application. To qualify, the applicant must be a senior student in good standing enrolled in a Newport News high school (public or private) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and will attend a public, private college/university or community college in the fall of 2018. The Colonial Italian American Organization Foundation will award two $4,000 scholarships for students attending Bruton, Jamestown, Lafayette or Warhill High Schools, Providence Classical, Walsingham Academy, Veritas Preparatory School or Williamsburg Christian Academy or a home-schooled student living in a school district served by these schools. The Williamsburg Community Foundation – The WJCC Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for students graduating from Jamestown, Lafayette, and Warhill High Schools. Applications for 2018-2019 will be available here in February, 2018.
