Board Members Needed by Our Nonprofits

So-Etiquette Society is seeking board members for a minimum 2-year term. The mission of So-Etiquette Society is to teach and provide youth with the social skills and related soft skills necessary to command an audience, lead a corporation, and innovate and inspire others and themselves to greatness. We are interested in building a strong organization with dedicated and involved Board members. As a newer organization, we are in need of people who can provide help in specific areas including: youth enrollment, fundraising, securing event venues, public relations, and grant writing. Williamsburg Players is in need of Board members to serve in various positions, including: Secretary, Vice-President/Business Development and Marketing Chair. The board meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 at the theater. This is a “working board.” For more information, click here.

Access Virginia was established in 2014 to provide and promote accessibility at performing arts theaters as well as other venues for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Blind/Visually Impaired Communities, to create tangible positive changes in their lives. The methods of accommodation are open captioning and audio description. We are currently in need of two new Board members who have experience in fundraising and development. Bacon Street Youth & Family Services. We are passionate about supporting families. For close to 45 years we have served adolescents and families dealing with substance abuse through treatment and prevention programs. We are seeking board members who are actively involved in fundraising to help them expand their reach out into the community and continue to offer valuable services in James City County, City of Williamsburg, York County, and City of Poquoson. Dream Catchers will have several openings in the next few months for new board members.  We seek board members who are actively involved in fund raising, comply with our meeting requirements (10 per year, last Tuesday of the month from 5:30- 7:00 p,.m),  those who plan to be part of the leadership team of the board, and those who give a personal gift at the leadership level.  We seek people who are passionate about our mission.  In addition to board members we are actively seeking people to volunteer in our programs, primarily by volunteering in the therapeutic lessons with the students with special needs and our horses. Patient Advocate Foundation is seeking Community Advisory Board members who, along with PAF, will 1) work together to identify healthcare needs and gaps that exist in our local community, 2) bring solutions and financial resources to those needs through a collaborative and creative process and 3) create and execute signature projects and programs that bring value to the residents of our own community. is a new performing arts company that is ready to build a strong board of trustees to help us expand our reach. We tour all around the east coast, and Virginia is one of our central locations. Proclaiming Grace Outreach is searching for those interested in becoming a part of a hard working board that feeds the hungry and serves their basic needs in lower New Kent and Upper James City Counties. We currently are in need of a Board Secretary, who would be responsible for taking minutes at our monthly meetings as well as keeping a calendar of events, and some correspondence. We are also seeking board members who have an interest in and/or experience in joining our Capital Fundraising Campaign.
