Volunteers Needed for Community Action Network

The Community Action Network at St. Paul’s has the following volunteer needs:

1. Pick up food in Chesapeake 3 times a week, Monday Wednesday and Friday at three Chesapeake locations just across the river from St. Paul’s. Pickups are requested mid morning or mid afternoon when the establishments are less busy. One locations requests a telephone call to check for food availability. This could easily be shared by one or several volunteers and backups.
2. Pick-up food at the CNU Panera Bread location every Thursday at either 9 or 10 pm depending upon the stores schedule. This pick-up has very specific requirements but delivery to St. Paul’s is flexible on Friday morning.
3. Food programs coordinator (Food Manager): Someone with the knowledge, skills and abilities to help the Community Action Network to receive, plan and use the food which is being donated to us. We would need a domestic engineer who can think in terms of 30-50 people.
4. Volunteer Coordinator – help organize and coordinate volunteers from over 35 Community Action Network at St. Paul’s partners which is mostly churches and other civic minded organizations and a few individual volunteers.
To volunteer for any of these opportunities call Fr. Bruce at St. Paul’s Office 757-247-5086 please.
