BR – Building the Board: Recruitment (1 hour) – Jeanne Allen – Learn how to identify board needs, cultivate potential nominees, and recruit, interview, and evaluate nominees. We’ll explore each phase with specific actions and “tools” that can help your board stay focused.
DEI – Talking About Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Your Staff, Board, and Volunteers (1.5 hours) – Jeanne Allen and Jonathan Meagher-Zayas – How do you (and why should you), as an Executive Director or a Board Chair, start a conversation on Diversity, Equity and/or Inclusion with your board, staff members, and volunteers? The goal of that conversation is to build a strong connection with your community, your clients and other stakeholders, and stay aligned with your organizational values and mission. We’ll explore different ways to establish common ground, some questions to consider when leading your own conversation, and potential steps to move you and your nonprofit onward.
