Creating a Rich Tapestry: Diversity In… Truly embracing diversity requires considering the different factors at play and building policy and practice that reflect this understanding. True diversity requires a diverse approach. And while this can encompass many different areas worthy of consideration within any diversity strategy, we are going to start with four areas that impact every organization — marketing and community engagement, board recruitment, service delivery, and fundraising and philanthropy. Join us for this series of panel discussions with diversity at the center of the conversation.
This series will be moderated by Natalie Miller-Moore, Director of the Williamsburg Integrated Care Initiative, Community Access Network – (Location: All sessions will be held at the Community Education Center, Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News)

April 14 – 11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Diversity in Marketing and Community Engagement – To engage with the community, nonprofits need to connect with stakeholders, where they are, through marketing and storytelling — so everyone can see themselves in your nonprofit. How do you do that in an authentic way? In an honest and authentic conversation, a panel of nonprofit leaders and nonprofit champions will discuss how to tell the story of your nonprofit and connect with community in a way that celebrates the richness of the tapestry that makes up your nonprofit, your work, and your passion. PANELISTS: Stephanie Heinatz, Principal, Consociate Media; Maerine “Mimi” Mitchell, Director of Community Engagement, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg
