2020 Demographic Survey & Report

NetworkPeninsula / 2020 Demographic Survey & Report

In September-October 2020, NetworkPeninsula conducted a survey of nonprofits serving the Virginia Peninsula to assess and understand the demographics of the region’s nonprofit sector. Participating organizations were asked about the demographics of their employees, board members and donors, as well as characteristics of staff holding certain positions in the organization. We have also compared this data to county demographic data collected via the American Community Survey from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The goal of this Report is to provide the data and not attempt to interpret it or presume to make any judgments. Rather, it is our hope that the findings be used to coordinate targeted discussions among nonprofit leaders. NetworkPeninsula looks forward to helping to coordinate these conversations and to using this data to work with nonprofit leaders who are interested in creating actionable steps to ensure equity in our sector.

NetworkPeninsula would like to thank the organizations that participated in this survey. We are thankful for all they do every day to create needed change in our communities.

Special thanks to Sarah Blackstone, our volunteer from Catchafire, for taking the data collected and preparing this Report. We are also grateful to the Williamsburg Health Foundation for partnering with Catchafire to enable local nonprofits to access skilled volunteers like Sarah for a multitude of projects.

The cost to access the Demographic Survey & Report is $79. Once payment is made below, you will receive an email with the access code to open the Report. (If you participated in the Survey, please email us with your access code.)
