Beacon Institute: Veteran Pathways Home
Beacon Institute: Veteran Pathways Home is a faith-based non-profit education organization 501(c)3 serving U. S. Armed Forces, Services Members, Veterans, and their Families since 2001. (SMVF is US DHHS SAMHSA identification.) We serve military because we are military and share the pathways to hope and healing providing SMVF Peer to Peer behavioral and holistic health education and peer support delivery services. Activities including but not limited to conducting education for other faith-based groups, maintaining sources of educational materials, engaging other community and neighborhood groups in coalitions, community organization strategic planning.
Williamsburg Faith in Action‘s mission is to help senior adults age safely in their homes by providing transportation and other volunteer support services. We do this in Williamsburg, James City County and the Bruton District of York County by providing transportation, shopping, caregiver support, assistance with household chores, one-on-one visits, daily well-check calls, friendly phone visits, and light yard work.
The mission of Bacon Street Youth & Family Services is to create healthier families and more resilient youth through evidence-based behavioral health & substance use services for adolescents, young adults, and their families. We have four offices—Williamsburg, Yorktown, Hampton, and Gloucester—and offer services tailored to the communities we serve. All of our services are offered regardless of our clients’ ability to pay.
BikeWalk’s mission is to facilitate outdoor recreational cycling and walking in the Williamsburg, James City County, and York county areas of Virginia by educational, training, and advocacy activities aimed at increasing awareness of the health, environmental and social benefits of regular cycling and walking activities.
The mission of Because I Care Outreach is to support caregivers and their families by utilizing resources and activities that promote health, education, and wellness.
Community of Faith Mission is the Greater Williamsburg area’s only emergency winter shelter program serving homeless men, women, and families. A collaboration of more than 20 faith partners and a dozen community partners, COFM serves as a bridge between living unsheltered and finding permanent housing.
Greater Williamsburg Outreach Mission (GWOM) is an inter-faith collective that serves as a voice of advocacy for the homeless in the Greater Williamsburg area.
The Williamsburg Farmers Market‘s mission is to sustain, foster, and operate a weekly farmers market in Merchants Square for growers and producers to sell fresh seasonal food and farm products direct to consumers in the Williamsburg area.
Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and intellectual disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of james City County, the City of Poquoson, the City of Williamsburg, and York County.
NAMI Williamsburg is a support, education & advocacy organization for and by individuals with serious mental illnesses, their families and friends.
The Jamestown Yorktown Foundation owns and operates two living-history museums, Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
Greater Williamsburg Movement is a part of the national Movement Day, which was launched in 2010 as a one-day to three-day gathering of ministry, marketplace and nonprofit leaders passionate about cities and the Gospel of Jesus, coming together across denominational, ethnic, geographical, and socio-economic lines. Over 32,000 city leaders have been trained.
Virginia Racial Healing Institute is “a healing place!’ We are a safe and welcoming space to engage in dialogue, classes, and pilgrimages to foster racial healing and reconciliation at the birthplace of America. We are helping to the heal our communities and nation, one person at time.
Thread Local Charities was formed for the sole purpose of benefitting community members in and around Williamsburg Virginia by providing quality clothing to people in need, quickly and easily.
Our foundation is dedicated to establishing and providing secure and supportive environments for displaced women and children in need to recover and develop. Our goal is to enable them to conquer challenges and flourish, while also providing them with the necessary resources and assistance to achieve success.
The mission of the Let Freedom Ring Foundation mission is to protect and preserve the historical prominence of the First Baptist Church, 1776 and all of its artifacts.
Hope Family Village is a community-centric collaborative offering acceptance, housing, and sustainable support for caregivers and their loved ones suffering with mental illness.
Grove Christian Outreach Center maintains an Outreach Center in the Grove area of James City County in order to minister to they physical and spiritual needs of the poor and disadvantaged in the community. They provide food, clothing, financial assistance, school supplies, holiday food baskets, Christmas baskets, shoebox gifts for kids, and a blessing room for families.
3E Restoration’s mission is to encourage, equip and empower faith communities to help transition neighbors living through homelessness from social displacement to holistic sufficiency. Together, we can change the narrative on homelessness.
Literacy for Life provides individualized, one-to-one tutoring for adults in reading, writing, and math, as well as English for speakers of other languages.
