Lace Up for Habitat for Humanity’s Virtual Race!
If you’ve ever wanted to enter a race but have been too nervous about running around others, here’s your chance! Habitat for Humanity is hosting a virtual run/walk in support of their mission. Grab your racing shoes and register for the Run the D.O.G. St. 5K.
Sign up to run by yourself, or encourage your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to join you to run or walk 3.1 miles between now and Wednesday, September 30. Registrants receive a race t-shirt and a participant medal. You’ll also get some exercise and know you are supporting Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities and hope!
Hosted by Colonial Sports, the Run the D.O.G. St. 5K is raising funds to help Habitat for Humanity build a home for the Schanck family. Barbara Schanck works for James City County Public Schools, helping forge the minds of our future. She enjoys spending time with her 10-year old nephews, Marquis and Markell, and helping them learn new things about dinosaurs, their favorite subject. In their new home, Barbara hopes to create lasting memories for herself, as well as her family, including a safe and stable environment for the boys to prosper.
For more information or to register, visit www.habitatpgw.org/race.html. When you visit the page, choose 5K Virtual Run/Walk on the right-hand side of the second column. Registration is $35 and closes on Friday, September 4.
