There are 3 phases of the Youth Enrichment Program:
– Phase I: August 3-28, 2020 – Employment Readiness: The middle school students will participate up to 4 hours daily as volunteer interns assigned to Host Sites Monday-Wednesday. Thursdays and Fridays include enrichment training, service learning projects and educational/cultural programming
– Phase II: October 20, 2020; November 7, 2020; January 16, 2021 and February 20, 2021 – Virtual Enrichment Leadership Programs and Community Service Project: YEP participants will engage in 3 virtual leadership development sessions and implement a community service project designed to address risk factors relative to employment readiness, trauma, or conflict resolution.
– Phase III: March 27, 2021 – Community Builders Network Conference: YEP participants will explore risk and protective factors impacting positive social and emotional development, ability to form healthy relationships, utilizing social media platforms, youth and community violence, mental health wellness, tobacco, alcohol and other drug prevention.
During the YEP Program youth are responsible for their own transportation to and from work and the weekly training sites. Components of this program will be conducted virtually and in-person. Youth must have access to connect virtual for interviews, training’s and various internship assignments.
Youth will receive a community service hour’s certificate and a $500.00 stipend for participation and completing all 3 phases of the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP).
****Important Date: All applicant must attend their assigned interviews virtually. Interview will be scheduled on Zoom for July 15 or July 16, 2020 for either time slots of 10:30am-12:00pm or 2:00pm-3:30pm and youth must be present the entire time to be eligible for this internship. Eligible youth candidates will be notify of their interview date and time slot by email on July 10, 2020.
