NetworkPeninsula / Get Involved

There are may ways for community members to get involved with the nonprofits serving our local communities.

Volunteer Needs
– review a continually updated list of volunteers needed by area nonprofits.

Item Needs
– review a continually updated list of items needed by area nonprofits.

Community Calendar – review our calendar to learn about upcoming events from our nonprofits.

Youth Network – Find information about youth volunteer opportunities, service projects and scholarships for children and young adults of all ages.

Board Network – includes a Board Match Up Program for community members wanting to be matched up to a nonprofit in need; an Onboarding Class offered for new Board members; and customized Board Trainings for full boards. All trainings and classes are designed to help community members better understand the roles, responsibilities, and rewards of serving on a nonprofit Board.

Community Partnerships – we work with area businesses, civic & faith-based groups to recruit volunteers; encourage participation in events; secure items needed; and coordinate collection drives & work days, fundraising events to benefit multiple nonprofits, and discounts for nonprofit employees.

Annual Impact Forums – to bring together nonprofit, business, and community leaders across the Peninsula to learn more about and discuss issues impacting our communities. Forums are held in December at the School of Education, William & Mary and welcome more than 160 attendees.
