Join us for our 11th Annual Impact Forum which will include a presentation and roundtable discussions designed to create community-wide momentum for transforming our communities. Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Shawn Duncan, whose work around the country is focused on multi-sector coalition building for community impact. Dr. Duncan’s presentation and the roundtable discussions will include:

            • why current models are not producing the desired outcomes
            • the importance of creating a common language for collaborative work
            • how to catalyze a movement toward long-term impact.
            • an example of flourishing place-based work in Atlanta, Georgia and the data behind this process
            • what this can mean for our local communities on the Peninsula.

Our Annual Impact Forums bring together nonprofit leaders, community leaders, and senior-level decision makers from the public and private sectors to discuss emerging issues in the region, and beyond, and the collective impact we can make in addressing these issues. Previous topics have included “The Changing Face of Corporate Philanthropy,” “The Overhead Myth,” “Generational Dynamics in the Nonprofit, Public, and Private Sectors,” “Intentional Philanthropy,” and “Employee Engagement and Social Impact,” and “Current and Future State of the Nonprofit Sector.”

In 2022, we held our 10th Annual Impact Forum which also served as a our 15th Anniversary Celebration. The program included a focus on the power of true collaboration in our region and featured the Home First Program, a collaboration among 3E Restoration, Bacon Street Youth & Family Services, and the City of Williamsburg; and the team at Lackey Clinic about multiple collaborative initiatives they have launched with the City of Newport News, THRIVE Peninsula, Grove Christian Outreach Center, Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, H.E.L.P., Olde Towne Medical Clinic, and others!
