In 2017, NetworkPeninsula celebrated 10 years of Building Nonprofit Capacity with programs that have reached more than 280 local nonprofits & engaged thousands of individuals, businesses, and civic and faith-based groups on the Peninsula! NetworkPeninsula held its 6th Annual Impact Forum in December 2017, its largest Forum to date with more than 100 nonprofit, business and community leaders gathered to hear from a panel of senior business leaders about the current role of corporate philanthropy. Panelists included: Victor Branch, Bank of America, Virginia Market Manager, Senior VP, Enterprise Business and Community Engagement; Melissa Hazelwood, Ferguson Enterprises, Manager, Ferguson Cares; Charlie Marcotte, American Pride Automotive, Owner; and Thomas J. Cosgrove, Newport News Shipbuilding, Manager, Corporate Citizenship & Government Relations.

NetworkPeninsula held its 1st Executive Directors’ Survival Skills Class with Jane Stein of JPS Consulting. Executive Directors had to create the perfect Executive Director which included traits like empowering, visionary, resilient, & more. We are grateful for all of them and the valuable work they do in leading local nonprofits!

NetworkPeninsula and the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation co-hosted a Faith-Based Forum in October, welcoming dozens of leaders from area congregations to come and learn more about the valuable work being done by our nonprofits.

NetworkPeninsula, in partnership with the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation, held their 2nd Annual Legislative Breakfast in September, welcoming government representatives from every locality on the Peninsula to share the issues they are dealing with that will impact the work of local nonprofits.

NetworkPeninsula‘s 100th workshop “Building, and Keeping, the Powerhouse Nonprofit Board” was a great success with more than 55 nonprofit staff and Board members in attendance! Special thanks to our presenter, Jane Stein, JPS Consulting, and our Presenting Sponsor, Drucker & Falk Real Estate.


5th Annual Impact Forum a Success!
