Let Freedom Ring Foundation – The LFR Scholarship seeks to advance applicants’ knowledge regarding African American history through an essay, presentation, and research. Their mission is to support applicants’ post-secondary educational pursuits and provide life-long opportunities for students. Deadline for essay is March 1, 2022. To learn more, click here.

Williamsburg Community Foundation – The WJCC Scholarship Fund provides college scholarships for students graduating from Jamestown, Lafayette, and Warhill High Schools. Students from Walsingham Academy are eligible to apply for the Paula Kirtland Scholarship and the Lennarz Family Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded without discrimination, in consideration of these factors: curriculum difficulty, class rank, extra-curricular activities, application essay, and financial need. Please review the list of scholarships available, and remember this list will be updated as new scholarships become available. Deadline to apply is March 6, 2022. To learn more, click here.

BayPort FoundationThe Foundation offers 10 different scholarships to the communities BayPort serves, including high school seniors, participating Student-Run Credit Unions (SRCUs) high school seniors, college students, and full-time working professionals going back to school. Deadline for submissions for the 2022/2023 academic year is March 31, 2022. To learn more, click here.

Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute Offers Criminal Justice Scholarships – Newport News Students pursuing a career in criminal justice are eligible for a scholarship through the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute. Newport News Sheriff Gabe Morgan encourages students who will be attending a Virginia college or university in the 2022-2023 school year to apply. Full-time students will receive $1,000 and part-time students will receive $500. The application deadline is May 1. To learn more, click here.

Gweedo Memorial Scholarship  – given out to a graduating senior each year in memory of Conner Guido. Deadline is May 15, 2022. To learn more, click here.

Proclaiming Grace Outreach – offers $1,500 scholarships to New Kent and Warhill High School Seniors who are pursuing traditional college paths as well as those pursuing a vocational path. The Jenna Grace King Memorial Scholarship application can be found in your guidance office. Deadline each year in May.

Peninsula Community Foundation – various scholarships with deadlines through May.
