Food Packing and Front Desk Help Needed – THRIVE Peninsula is in need of volunteers to help pack food for families or work the front desk because many of our regular volunteers are choosing to self-quarantine. We are looking for pantry help Mon – Thurs 11am – 5pm. Front desk help is needed Mon-Thurs 10am-5pm. Our biggest need is for subs. If you are willing to volunteer 2 or more hours a week during the summer, please contact Mary by email or 757-877-6211 Ext. 2.

Multiple Volunteer OpportunitiesServe the City Peninsula works with local organizations to provide volunteers for various tasks including making and serving lunches, office help, and more.

Philanthropy Committee Member- Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast. Meets once a month virtually. Members would help plan events and make connections with people in the community. If interested, please email Susan Meek.

Database Volunteer – Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast is looking for a volunteer who is skilled in Raisers edge and can help us keep the database up to speed. They would need to add data and look up information to keep the database current. They would need to run reports etc. Important that they keep the information confidential. Can work from home. SeamstressGrove Community Garden is in need of someone to make flags for their Garden. To learn more, contact Jordan Sturdivant at 756 418-5274.

BOARD MEMBER NEEDS:

Communities In Schools is seeking 2-3 board members from the area who can help raise awareness for their mission and values and growth on the Peninsula. They are currently in one school in Hampton. Their mission is to surround students with a community of support, encouraging them to stay in school and achieve in life. They are seeking board members will be engaged, committed to learning what we do, and how we operate. To review the specific responsibilities, click here. The DeGood Foundation is seeking to expand its Board of Directors. Their mission is to help children of the Virginia Peninsula Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More through our programs for change of youth literacy, health, and education.
